Last night was the Demon Media awards for 2011. With student media producers at De Montfort University gathering together to celebrate their achievements in producing innovative and creative media for the Demon Newspaper, DemonTV and DemonFM. Hosted at Phoenix Square, the event is a chance for all the teams and volunteers for the three media groups to have their work recognised. Close to my heart was David Murphy’s award as the Demon of the Year. David has worked tirelessly to support and develop DemonFM this year, and has made a huge impact bringing the station forward and keeping lots of different people happy, while helping them to make great content for the station.
Amy Seabrook VP Media with DSU did a great job organising the event, and looked very glamorous in the process. It was great to see so many people who are passionate about student media at DMU, and I’ve no doubt that the awards will go from strength to strength each year.
