Consultation sessions about the future of the Burton Street Car Park took place this week. Businesses and residents close to the area were invited to give their views about the future options for the Burton Street Car Park.
Members of the public were guided around a set of displays, maps and posters that outlines the possible uses of the site, from business to residential, and from parking to retail.
According to the Melton Times many residents are calling for the Car Parking to be kept, but others have suggested that the site would be a better asset to Melton if it is used for a business center. A number of visitors wanted to ensure that the design takes into account that this area is a both a heritage area and a recreational area with a lot of use by pedestrians, who at present don’t get priority through the area.
